Welcome!

My name is Heath "Hank" Brightman. Above all else in my life I am a Runner. I run when I'm happy. I run when I'm sad. I run to remember. I run to forget. But most of all, I run for those who can't.  

The purpose of this website is to help raise much-needed funds for a great cause, The Magic Bullet Fund. This wonderful non-profit organization provides care for real-life dogs when their owners (i.e., families or caretakers) can’t afford the cost of treatment.   

I recently ran the First-Annual Rhode Island 6-Hour Ultra. It was an AMAZING race, and I managed to complete 27.9 miles well within the time limit! This has inspired me to run the Vermont City Marathon on May 30, 2010 to raise much-needed money for The Magic Bullet Fund. I am hoping to complete the race in about 4 hours and 15 minutes (my PR at Vermont City was in 1994, when I clocked 3:54:23).

It's official: I will be running the Vermont City Marathon on May 30th!

I haven't run Vermont City since 1994, so I'm looking forward to returning to the course and seeing what is the same and what has changed in the beautiful city of Burlington.
